Desc:  Materials for the course will be provided at a cost of £15 per term (payable to tutor on first night) including a drop spindle and all fibres required for classes.

This class is aimed at people who have not tried spinning before, or who are just beginning. ‘

The class will start with learning the basics of spinning using a drop spindle and wool fibre to make a yarn suitable for knitting or weaving. Next the class will move on to using a spinning wheel and learn how to set up the wheel, spin on it and ply to make finished yarns. The course will also cover the use of different fibres and fibre preparation techniques using both fleece and commercial fibres, yarn finishing and how to spin a variety of different yarns.
