Basket Making : Tuesdays 12:30 to 6:00 pm   –  Classes on non-consecutive weeks.   14/5, 21/5, 28/5, 11/6.

Desc:  The Tutor will provide prepared basketry willow for the classes. All the basic basketry tools are available to use in the classroom, but students are welcome to bring their own secateurs and /or other basketry tools, if they would like.

To get the most from the intermediate class, students should have attended at least three terms of the beginners’ class or have gained basketry experience to enable them to create simple baskets independently.

This term will focus on frame basket making including various shaped and double hoops, different means of securing hoop joins including wiring, pegging and wrapping with skeins, making and shaping ribs, scalloming on ribs and weavers, and different types of handles and attachments.
