Description

Day:    Thursday 10-12noon

Tutor: Lorna Chamberlin

NOTICE:  Normally these classes are open to all abilities including beginners.  However this term the tutor is going to be unavailable for part of the Autumn term starting in September.  The classes will therefore operate as untutored with some setup and firing tasks performed by experienced members of the group. Because of this we regrettably will not be able to accept anyone who has not already attended classes for at least one Term  at the Poldrate pottery.  The charge for the class will be as for a tutored class and members will be refunded the difference between tutored and untutored classes towards the end of term depending on the number of classes that the tutor is able to attend.

Desc:  The PACC has a fully equipped pottery workshop with kilns. The course caters for students of all abilities. As a beginner you will learn the basic techniques needed to make all kinds of pottery. These techniques include pinch pots, as the name suggests, by pinching clay with your fingers, Slab pots, by joining slabs of clay together, coiled pots and throwing on the potters wheel. It is a small group with individual attention. We will also cover clay preparation, slip decoration and glazing.
