Some Dos and Don’ts

DO’s

● DO come first to the ground floor workshop of the Granary when handing in to pay, complete your entry card (if you haven’t already) and label your item.

● Members may submit 1 or 2 items from each class they attend, up to a maximum of 5 items in total if you attend multiple classes.

● Each item costs £2 to submit. Please have cash/coins ready on the day.

● Items MUST have a completed entry card BEFORE handing in. Cards can be obtained from your class tutor or from the foyer in the Mill or Granary. On handing in day these will be available in the Granary with pens to complete BEFORE handing in.

● Paintings/prints/drawings MUST be framed AND have a string/wire for hanging.

● Each work should have a short title/description so that it can be identified if labels become detached.

● You can choose to offer your work for sale and if so you should decide on a price, or if you wish, it can be described as NFS (not for sale). PACC take a commission of 20% on any item sold, please factor this into your price.

● DO offer to lend a hand to accept and stack work and register entries if you can help out on the night of handing in.

● DO offer to come and help out with hanging and preparing the exhibition. This involves sorting and prepping tables with pottery, glass works, fabrics and baskets and also the lengthy job of hanging over a hundred paintings. Come for the day or come for an hour. All help is welcome.

● DO ensure that you or a friend can come and collect your work on the last day. Any time from 5:00pm to 6:00pm is ideal. The room is required for Term 3 classes so we can’t store work that hasn’t been collected. If you are really struggling to collect, please contact the committee to let us know.

● DO offer to act as a steward for a slot during the period of the exhibition. Stewards simply have to welcome visitors, make sure no one walks off with any of the artworks, and take money and details if someone wishes to buy one of the works.

○ Follow the link to add your name to the electronic version of the stewarding rota where you can register your name to help. If you have any difficulties editing this on your mobile, try using a larger-screened device:

DON’Ts

● DON’T show up before 4:30pm to hand in. It won’t be accepted.

● DON’T expect your tutor to hand your work in for you unless you have particular difficulty in doing it yourself and you have specifically spoken to them beforehand and obtained their agreement.

● DON’T assume filling in all the details on the submission card is an optional extra.

● DON’T hand in a picture without a frame AND a suitable wire or string for hanging from a picture hook.

● To ensure that all visitors, including those attending on the final afternoon, experience the exhibition in full, exhibitors will not be permitted to collect their work until the exhibition has officially closed. Collection of work is from 5pm.
